SABIHA GOKCEN AIRPORT, TURKEY

Sahiba Gökçen International Airport is one of two international airports in the largest city of Turkey, Istanbul. Located 35 km southeast of Central Istanbul, Sahiba Gökçen is on the Asian portion of the bi-continental city. It serves as the most popular destination for Pegasus Airlines, as well as the Turkish Airlines and Borajet base.
 
Super-Cell was invited to conduct a bi-directional static load test of the underpass construction for the existing highway, as well as the 20 m fill over it. The piles and the pile capacity test (load capacity) were specifically designed for controlling underpass settlement under this fill.
